Commissioner of Police Adamu Elleman Advocates Collaboration with NUJ During Familiarization Visit.

In a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Niger State Council, Commissioner of Police Adamu Abdullahi Elleman emphasized the critical role of journalists in society.
He stated, “I love Journalists not just because they are the ears and eyes of the masses, but because they inform the world about pressing issues.”
During the visit, the Commissioner expressed his desire to enhance collaboration with the NUJ, acknowledging their pivotal position in communicating the concerns of the public to the government.
He conveyed gratitude to the NUJ Chairman for welcoming him and reiterated his commitment to understanding the challenges faced by the community.
The Commissioner assured members of the NUJ that he values their input in policing and governance, stating, “I need you to come to me and share your observations. I promise that I will take your advice seriously.”
Drawing from his background in law, he reaffirmed his commitment to upholding human rights and protecting citizens rather than using power against them.
Elleman underscored that his administration would remain neutral in political matters, ensuring that policing under his command does not favor any political party.
He called on journalists to help create a conducive atmosphere for governance and business, highlighting the importance of their role in police-community relations.
Concluding his address, the Commissioner emphasized the necessity for synergy and collaboration, asking for the journalists’ partnership in achieving common goals for the benefit of Niger State.
He expressed his eagerness to work alongside the NUJ, reminding them, “My approach in Niger State will be consistent with my previous roles. Together, we can make a difference.”
In his speech, Comrade Abu Madu, the State Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Niger State Council, expressed his unwavering support for the success of the administration in Niger State.
He emphasized the commitment of the journalists in the state to stand behind the leadership.
Comrade Madu recounted a brief anecdote from within the first week of his tenure, highlighting the positive impact of collaborative efforts.
He also extended his appreciation to the Commissioner of Police, Elleman, for his tireless work in addressing youth restiveness in the state capital.
