Niger State Government to Partner with Russia on Agro Investment.

The Niger State Government is currently in discussions with Russia to explore investment opportunities in sunflower oil production and other agricultural ventures.
In this regard, Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago met with representatives from EFKO Group, one of the largest agro-industrial companies in Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union.
Governor Bago, who is also a farmer, was accompanied by other senior government officials as they deliberated on potential areas of partnership aimed at enhancing agriculture and food processing within the state.
The Governor emphasized that this partnership would significantly benefit Niger State by introducing improved farming techniques and processing methods, as well as empowering local farmers.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed broader areas of collaboration in food processing, including public-private partnerships and various investment opportunities.
Both sides plan to conduct feasibility studies to assess the suitability of land in Niger State for sunflower farming, while negotiations continue regarding contract terms and infrastructure development.
