Brighter Community Association Aids Less Privileged for Ramadan and Eid Celebrations
The Brighter Community in Minna, Niger State, has made a significant impact by distributing foodstuffs, clothing, and financial assistance valued at over one and a half million naira to support less privileged members during Ramadan and the upcoming Eid celebrations.
During the distribution ceremony, Alhaji Abdul Hammeed El-Waziri emphasized the community’s commitment to assisting its vulnerable members, highlighting the importance of fostering a sense of belonging among all. He noted that approximately seventy-seven individuals were selected by committee members to receive aid.
The assistance package included:
66 Families:* Received one 10kg bag of Semo and N5,000 each (as originally planned).
3 Families:* Received one leather of rice and N5,000 each (unplanned, on-spot consideration).
3 Families:* Received one leather of millet and N5,000 each (unplanned, on-spot consideration).
5 Families:* Received N5,000 each (unplanned, on-spot consideration).
Clothes Distribution:*
Clothes were shared randomly at the venue to those we physically observed deserved it the most, as they were not enough to go round. This ensured that the most vulnerable individuals present received additional support.
Engr. Umaru Haliru, the Coordinator, credited the resources for this initiative to the generous contributions of community members. He underscored the necessity of mutual support during challenging times, stating, *”No matter how small the items may be, they will make a meaningful impact on their lives.”*
Engr. Haliru also acknowledged the generosity of contributors, both in cash and kind, and expressed optimism that this year’s assistance has surpassed previous efforts, with a commitment to continuous improvement in future initiatives.
