Police Arrest Another Suspect in Village Head’s Murder Case .

In a significant development two years after the murder of Mohammed Abdulsafur, the village head of Lambata, law enforcement officials have apprehended a suspect, Dauda Umar Sarki, accused of participating in the killing on January 14, 2023.
Sarki was arrested by officers from the Gawu Babangida division following the orders of Justice Aisha Wodu Bawa, presiding over High Court Number 3 in Suleja.
The court has mandated that he be held in a correctional facility alongside other suspects implicated in the case.
During the resumed hearing, Justice Bawa denied a bail application from Ibrahim Musa, also known as Na’Allah, who is facing charges under Section 221.
This application was contested by the chief state counsel, Barrister Umar Halilu, and previously submitted by Musa’s counsel, Barrister Garba Mustapha.
The presiding judge outlined multiple counts against the defendants, including charges under Sections 221, 113, 114, and 336 of the Penal Code, to which all suspects have pleaded not guilty.
Justice Bawa urged the legal representatives involved to avoid unnecessary delays in the proceedings, subsequently adjourning the case to February 27 and 29 for a definitive hearing, with the suspects remaining in custody until then.
