Transforming Education in Niger State: A Pragmatic Approach by the Bago Administration.

The pragmatic approach adopted by the Bago-led Administration in Niger State has been recognized as a vital factor in the transformation of the education sector to align with global best practices.
Alhaji Abdullahi Asab Garba, a prominent education stakeholder and Director of Test and Measurement at the Niger State Ministry of Basic Education, made these remarks during a monitored radio program in Minna, the state capital.
He emphasized that the renewed focus on prioritizing science, technical education, and innovation is essential for accelerating the government’s goal of producing employable and self-reliant graduates who are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to become employers themselves.
Garba praised the dedicated leadership of Commissioner Dr. Hadiza Asabe Mohammed, asserting that her efforts are key to making the education transformation initiative of the Farmer Governor both achievable and a lasting legacy.
He highlighted Dr. Mohammed’s focused and visionary leadership in revitalizing primary and secondary schools throughout the state, ensuring they become conducive learning environments with adequate classroom furniture and teaching tools.
He expressed optimism that, under the commissioner’s determination, the days of pupils sitting on bare floors for their lessons will soon be over. Garba urged Nigerlites to support the state government’s new education policy, which aims to tackle the challenges of developmental aspirations in line with 21st-century requirements.
Additionally, Alhaji Asab Garba, the Kaigaman of the Kagara Emirate, lauded the Farmer Governor for promptly addressing debts owed to WAEC and NECO upon taking office.
He pointed out that this action underscores the Administration’s commitment to being a progressive partner with these examination bodies in fostering the educational resurgence of the state.
