Governor Bago redeems pledges to NYSC orientation camp in Niger state
Governor Umaru Bago of Niger, has delivered a truckload of rice and 20 cows to the National Youths Service Crops (NYS) in the state.
The Coordinator of NYSC in Niger, Mrs Olayinka Abdulwahab, disclosed this to in an interview in Minna on Thursday.
It can be recall that the governor had on July 2, during the swearing-in of 2024 Batch B, Stream one orientation course announced the donation of a trailer load of 600 bags of rice, 20 cow and N200,000 each for comfort of corps members willing to serve in the state.
Bago equally promised to sink five boreholes
and additional toilet facilities for both
male and female hostels.
Olayinka disclosed that she has taken
deliyery of 600 bags of rice and 20 cows, adding that items were received with great
elation by both corps members and camp oficials.
She said the process for the payment of the
N200.000 was ongoing, while the survey
for the five boreholes and the toilets announced by the governor has commenced.
The coordinator said the donation of the items would help mitigate the challenges faced by course participants during orientation exercises.
