Gov. Bago slashes registration fees of students of Abdulkadir Kure varsity by 50%

Gov. Umaru Bago of Niger has approved a 50 per cent reduction of the registration fees of all the students studying in Abdulkadir Kure University, Minna.
This largesse was part of his efforts to ease the burden on parents following the removal of fuel subsidy.
This was contained in a statement by the Pro- Chancellor, Abdulkadir Kure University, Minna on Friday .
Yahaya-Kuta noted that governor said the gesture is aimed at alleviating the compounding financial hardships on parents.
According to him, the decision would reduce the effect of the current economic hardship on passionate students and their parents, who may be suffering from the consequences of fuel subsidy removal and economic hardship.
He, further stated that all students studying regular courses in the institution are to enjoy the total relief of a fifty percent reduction in the registration fee in the ongoing 2023/2024 academic session.
The statement added that, while congratulating the students, parents, and the people of Niger on the development, the Governor hoped that the beneficiaries and entire people of the state will lend their unflinching support and cooperation to the present administration.
He said, “Governor Bago implored beneficiaries of the government’s kind gesture to reciprocate by being more committed to their studies for the development of the state and humanity at large”.
