Niger Dep Gov felicitates Prof. Nuhu Tachi at 56
The Deputy Governor of Niger State, Comrade Yakubu Garba, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Professor Muhammad Bashar Nuhu Tachi, the Shattiman Minna, on the celebration of his 56th birthday, describing him as an exemplary academic, administrator, and patriotic leader whose contributions continue to enrich Nigeria’s intellectual and developmental landscape.
In a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Ummikhaltume Abdullahi Kuta, the Deputy Governor commended Professor Tachi’s distinguished career marked by academic excellence, administrative competence, and a deep commitment to national development.
He noted that the celebrant remains a trailblazer in the Nigerian academic community, having mentored numerous scholars and professionals across diverse spheres.
Comrade Garba highlighted Prof. Tachi’s impactful service to Niger State during his tenure as Commissioner for Tertiary Education, where he championed key reforms, strengthened institutional frameworks, and worked tirelessly to enhance the quality of higher education in the state.
He stated that the Professor’s visionary leadership and passion for capacity building contributed immensely to the development of human capital in the North and beyond.
The Deputy Governor further expressed optimism that Professor Tachi’s appointment as the Executive Director of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC) will open a new chapter of impactful service, as according to him, Professor Tachi’s wealth of experience, intellectual depth, and administrative acumen uniquely position him to contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic transformation of the North Central region.
He reaffirmed the Bago administration’s commitment to promoting merit by supporting competent Nigerlites for national responsibilities, adding that Prof Tachi’s elevation is a testament to the state’s reservoir of talent and its readiness to contribute to national growth.
“Professor Tachi has consistently demonstrated uncommon dedication, professionalism, and integrity. His record of service speaks volumes, and we are confident that his new role will further showcase his capacity to deliver on mandates that advance regional and national development,” the Deputy Governor said.
