Farmer Governor Bago Launches Polio Eradication Awareness Campaign

Niger State Governor, Alhaji Mohammed Umaru Bago, has officially launched an awareness campaign titled “End Polio Now” focused on eradicating polio.
The initiative, organized by Rotary International in partnership with the Niger State Ministry of Primary Health, was inaugurated at the Senator Ibrahim Idris Kuta Level 2 Primary Healthcare Center in Minna.
During the event, Farmer Bago, who administered the polio vaccine to a child, reaffirmed his government’s commitment to completely eradicate polio in the state.
He also pledged to continue providing essential resources to all Primary Health Care Centers across Niger to ensure they can deliver medical services effectively.
District Governor of Rotary District 9126, Funkeakpo Ken Batife, praised the governor for his dedication to health sector initiatives. She highlighted that governors are key players in raising awareness about the importance and safety of polio vaccines.
The campaign is part of the activities for World Polio Day. She also informed the public that polio vaccines are available at all Primary Health Care Centres and urged parents to ensure their children receive the vaccine.
