Timely Deployment of Voting Materials Marks Successful Start to Lapai Local Government Elections – Hon. Jantabo.

The local government council elections in Lapai began peacefully on Saturday, November 1, 2025, with stakeholders praising the prompt arrival of voting materials at polling units.
Hon. HaliruJantabor disclosed that essential voting materials were delivered on schedule, which significantly contributed to a smooth electoral process.
In an interview at his polling unit in Gidan Badidi, Jantabo expressed satisfaction with the overall conduct of the elections. The calm atmosphere during voting was credited to extensive sensitization and awareness campaigns conducted by the Niger State Independent Electoral Commission (NSIEC) and various stakeholders leading up to the polls.
Hon. Jantabo commended these efforts, emphasizing their role in ensuring a peaceful election day.
He also praised the Niger State Governor, Hon. Mohammed Umar Bago, for creating an environment conducive to fair competition among all political parties participating in the local government chairmanship elections across the state’s 25 local government areas.
Party agents from the Social Democratic Party (SDP), All Progressives Congress (APC), and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) confirmed that voting materials arrived at 8:00 a.m., which facilitated timely accreditation and voting.
The Political parties Agents expressed optimism regarding the election’s conduct and also commended the NSIEC for its efficient distribution of vital materials.
To encourage full participation, Governor Bago declared Thursday, October 30, and Friday, October 31, as public holidays in preparation for the election.
In Lapai Voters turnout and enthusiasm remained high as citizens actively engaged in the democratic process.
