Niger State Governor Declares Public Holidays Ahead of Local Government Elections
Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has announced public holidays on Thursday, October 30, and Friday, October 31, 2025, in preparation for local government elections scheduled for Saturday. However, essential service providers, including hospitals, banks, and security agencies, are exempt from the holiday directive.
Speaking at an event in Minna, Governor Bago emphasized the importance of civic participation, urging citizens to turn out in large numbers to vote for their preferred candidates.
He called for a peaceful and harmonious electoral process, highlighting its significance for the progress of Niger State.
