Tinubu Declares End of Corruption in Nigeria, Promotes Economic Reforms to Brazilian Investors.

By Yahaya Zakka.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has claimed that there is no more corruption in Nigeria, assuring Brazilian investors that the country’s economic reforms are yielding positive results.

Speaking during a meeting with ministers from both nations and members of the Brazil Business Group, the President emphasized Nigeria’s commitment to deepening partnerships in technology transfer, food security, manufacturing, and renewable energy.

Tinubu described Nigeria as a “vast, untapped market full of opportunities for Brazilian companies” and acknowledged that the reforms introduced by his administration were “initially painful, but today the result is blossoming.” He stated, “It’s getting clearer to the people. We have more money for the economy, and no more corruption.”

Highlighting efforts to enhance transparency, he referenced operations at the Central Bank of Nigeria, noting that access to foreign exchange no longer requires prior connections. “The speculators are out. In our currency market, the door is open for businesses,” he stated.

Reflecting on his previous visits to Brazil, President Tinubu emphasized the importance of moving from symbolic relations to practical economic collaboration. “We have allowed some problems and activities in the past to deter us from making progress and fulfilling our promises, but today we say that is the end of that.”

In a statement from presidential spokesperson Mr. Bayo Onanuga, it was revealed that President Tinubu attended a state luncheon at the Itamaraty Palace, where discussions centered on strengthening economic cooperation, boosting trade, and fostering innovation-driven partnerships.

The signing of new bilateral agreements is anticipated to enhance collaboration between Nigeria and Brazil, creating new pathways for sustainable development and technological exchange.
