Niger Food’s Chairman Receives Award of Excellence.
Niger Foods Security and Logistics Company Ltd has been recognized as the most productive agricultural and food processing company in Africa. This unanimous decision was reached during the national executive meeting held at the United Nations Assembly in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Ambassador Bakare Luqman, the leader of the Trans African Youth Development Initiative (TAYI), presented the award to the chairman at the Niger Foods office on Tuesday.
Ambassador Luqman acknowledged the organization’s commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to the communities it serves. He praised Sammy Adigun, describing him as a “golden fish with no hidden habitat.”
He characterized Mr. Adigun as a keen observer and visionary, qualities that are rare among many leaders and advocates of Africa’s development.
He urged other leaders to emulate Mr. Adigun’s life-saving approach to national development.
In response, Mr. Sammy Adigun, the CEO of Niger Foods and Logistics Company, encouraged the youth to be self-reliant, industrious, and productive. He expressed his gratitude for the award, stating that it serves as a catalyst to inspire further efforts.
Mr. Adigun urged the youth to embrace agriculture, emphasizing that “nature has given us everything to make us wealthy.” He added that escaping poverty requires a determined fight against it.
Additionally, he informed the group that Niger Foods aims to produce over 10 million tons of rice by the year 2030.
