Tinubu Unveils Key Appointments Across Federal Agencies.

President Bola Tinubu has formally announced a significant reshuffle in leadership positions within various federal agencies, highlighting Muhammad Babangida, son of former military President Ibrahim Babangida, as the new Chairman of the Bank of Agriculture.
This announcement was made through a statement by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, on Friday, July 18, 2025.
Muhammad Babangida, 53, brings a strong academic background with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s in Public Relations and Business Communication from the European University in Montreux, Switzerland.
He also completed an Executive Programme on Corporate Governance at Harvard Business School in 2002.
In addition to Babangida, several other appointments were confirmed, including:
Lydia Kalat Musa from Kaduna State as Chairman of the Oil and Gas Free Zone Authority (OGFZA).
Jamilu Wada Aliyu from Kano State appointed as Chairman of the National Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC).
Hon. Yahuza Ado Inuwa, also from Kano State, named Chairman of the Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON).
Sanusi Musa, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria from Kano State, set to lead the Institute of Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR).
Professor Al-Mustapha Alhaji Aliyu from Sokoto State appointed as Director-General of the Directorate of Technical Cooperation in Africa (DTCA).
Sanusi Garba Rikiji from Zamfara State to serve as Director-General of the Nigerian Office for Trade Negotiations (NOTN).
Tomi Somefun from Oyo State named Managing Director of the National Hydro-Electric Power Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC).
Dr. Abdulmumini Mohammed Aminu-Zaria from Kaduna State appointed as Executive Director of the Nigerian Integrated Water Resources Management Commission (NIWRMC).
These appointments reflect the administration’s commitment to strengthening leadership in critical sectors and fostering effective governance in Nigeria.
