The Coalition Agenda for Democracy (CAD) in Niger State has announced plans to form a strong alliance aimed at creating a more inclusive and dynamic political environment within the state.
The declaration was made during the coalition’s general meeting held on Monday, where leaders of the movement expressed optimism about the growing participation and support for the group’s vision. They noted that the increasing interest in the coalition signals a positive step toward stabilizing democratic engagement in the state.
Speaking at the meeting, one of the key stakeholders, AbdulKareem Abubakar, emphasized the need for continued effort to drive meaningful political change. He stated that, “As the political process unfolds, there is a strong need for intensified efforts that will positively impact the lives of the electorate and deepen the roots of democratic values in both the state and the country.”
According to Abubakar, CAD is focused on building a grassroots-based democratic platform that not only responds to the needs of the people but also empowers them to actively participate in leadership and governance.
Participants at the meeting also expressed confidence in the coalition’s ability to produce quality leaders who will champion good governance and policy reforms. They reiterated their commitment to unity, transparency, and accountability in steering the coalition forward.
The gathering concluded with a renewed pledge by members to work collectively towards a more robust democratic system in Niger State, with plans to expand their reach across local government areas and mobilize more citizens ahead of future political engagements.
