Fire Breaks Out at Mecca Hotel Housing Nigerian Pilgrims, No Casualties Reported.

A fire severely damaged the Imaratus Sanan Hotel, which was accommodating over 480 Nigerian pilgrims in Mecca. Fortunately, the pilgrims were not at the hotel at the time of the incident, as they had already departed for Mina to participate in the symbolic stoning ritual, a key part of the Hajj pilgrimage.
The fire broke out on Saturday at the Imaratus Sanan Hotel, located in the Sharamansur area of Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Although the blaze caused significant damage to parts of the building, there were no reported injuries or fatalities.
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) confirmed the incident in a statement released by its spokesperson, Fatima Usara. The commission expressed gratitude for the swift response of the Saudi fire services and hotel staff, whose efforts helped contain the fire and prevent any casualties.
NAHCON Chairman Abdullahi Usman visited the site to assess the damage. Shaken by the destruction, Mr. Usman offered comfort to the affected pilgrims and praised the quick actions of local authorities.
“Our priority is the safety and comfort of our pilgrims,” he stated. “We have arranged for immediate relocation to alternative accommodations and will provide all necessary support to minimize their distress.”
Mr. Usman also commended the Saudi fire service and hotel management for their prompt response to the incident.
