NUT Niger State Wing Extends Condolences and Support to Flood Victims in Mokwa
The leadership of the Niger State Wing of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), led by Comrade Adamu Akayago and represented by members of the State Administrative Committee (SAC), recently paid a condolence visit to Mokwa following the devastating flood that claimed numerous lives.
Comrades Dan Musa and Sani Garba expressed their sympathies to the affected families, providing financial support and offering prayers for the recovery of the injured and the safe return of those still missing.
During the visit, the Deputy Chairman of NUT Niger State Wing called on the government to explore alternative measures to prevent the recurrence of such disasters.
He urged for the urgent establishment of mobile clinics and food distribution for those affected, highlighting the immediate needs of the community.
The local government branch chairman reported that two teachers from the community were directly impacted by the flood, with others still unaccounted for. He prayed for divine assistance in their safe return.
Attendees included Comrade Sani Garba, Comrade Danmusa Kuta from the SAC, zonal chairpersons of NUT Niger State, and members of the women’s committee.
