Five More Bodies Recovered from the Mokwa Flood Incident.

The Niger State Government regrets to announce the recovery of five additional bodies from the recent flood disaster in the Mokwa Local Government Area, bringing the total number of casualties to 158.

In a statement by Abubakar Usman, the Secretary to the State Government of Niger State, it was reported that four of the bodies were recovered yesterday evening, while one was found in the early hours of this morning during ongoing search efforts. These bodies have since been buried.

This unfortunate development brings the confirmed fatalities from the flood to a total of 158.

The State Government appeals to residents and the general public to remain calm and prayerful during this time of collective grief. We urge everyone to avoid spreading unverified or misleading information that could deepen the sorrow, incite panic, or lead to unnecessary confusion within our communities.

While we continue to mourn the loss of these lives, the Government remains committed to providing support to affected families and intensifying rescue and relief efforts as needed.

May their souls rest in peace.
