IGP Applauds Police Affairs Ministry for Donation of Light Tactical Armoured Vehicles.

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has expressed his sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Police Affairs for its generous donation of Light Tactical Armoured Vehicles (LTAVs) to the Nigeria Police Force.
The handover ceremony took place today at the Ministry’s headquarters located in the Federal Secretariat in Abuja.
In a press release issued to newsmen in Minna by ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, it was stated that the event was chaired by Honourable Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam. Numerous dignitaries attended, including the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Anuma Ogbonnaya, as well as the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations and various key stakeholders within the police force.
In his remarks, Senator Gaidam reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to enhancing the capabilities of the Nigeria Police Force through modern security assets and ongoing capacity-building initiatives.
He emphasized that the donation of the LTAVs is a testament to the Federal Government’s strategic plan to strengthen internal security operations and equip police personnel to effectively address contemporary security challenges.
The Minister urged police operatives to use the vehicles judiciously in their mission to protect lives and property nationwide.
IGP Egbetokun highlighted that the introduction of these LTAVs is a significant advancement in the operational capacity of the Nigeria Police Force, particularly in tackling the nation’s evolving security threats.
He commended the Ministry for its continuous support and reiterated the police force’s dedication to its constitutional mandate of safeguarding lives and property.
Furthermore, the IGP noted that the equipment would be strategically deployed to improve police responsiveness, enhance officer safety, and foster public confidence in the Force’s ability to maintain law and order across the country.
