Niger State House of Assembly Standing Committee on Works and Infrastructure Concludes Oversight of Ongoing Road Construction Projects in Zone ‘B’
The Niger State House of Assembly Standing Committee on Works and Infrastructure has completed its oversight inspection of various road construction projects in Zone B, which includes Minna and Bosso towns.
The Committee Chairman, Hon. Arc Abubakar Suleiman Gomna, who represents the Bosso Constituency, stated that the committee is fulfilling its constitutional responsibility to assess the progress of work conducted by different construction companies.
The objective is to ensure that the people of Niger State receive value for their financial contributions towards infrastructural development.
During their inspection, the committee reviewed the following ongoing road projects:
– Tunga Bridge (Bridge One), Mobi Bridge, and Moris Underpass Bridge, managed by CCEC Construction Company
– A 5km Township Road handled by Global Legend Integrated Consult
– A 10km Road Project overseen by Kanazod Investment Limited
Hon. Gomna commended CCEC Construction Company for the quality of their work but expressed serious concerns regarding non-compliance with safety regulations at construction sites.
The committee expressed dissatisfaction with Global Legend Integrated Consult for their absence on-site, directing the contractor to appear before the Niger State House of Assembly for further legislative action.
In response, Engr. Nasiru Abdullahi, Personnel and Project Manager of CCEC Construction Company, thanked the committee for their visit and assured them of improved safety measures and the provision of alternative roads to alleviate difficulties faced by the residents of Niger State. Engr. David, representing Kanazod Investment Limited, also expressed appreciation for the committee’s visit.
The committee reaffirmed its commitment to monitoring ongoing construction projects to ensure quality and to support the efforts of Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago’s administration.
