The Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Barr. Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin-Daji, has commended Governor Mohammed Umar Bago for his visionary leadership and commitment to developing the state’s infrastructure.
This recognition was made during the inaugural flight ceremony by Overland Airways from Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport in Minna.
The Speaker, along with members of the 10th Assembly, praised Governor Bago’s ability to bring ambitious projects to fruition. Initially met with skepticism, the launch of the Minna-Lagos, Abuja-Minna, and Minna-Abuja flight routes has highlighted the Governor’s determination.
The Speaker assured that the 10th Assembly will continue to support and cooperate with the current administration to achieve further dividends of democracy in the state.
This event underscores the Niger State House of Assembly’s commitment to supporting the Governor’s initiatives and promoting the state’s progress.
In his speech, the Governor, who is affectionately referred to as the “Farmer Governor,” expressed his delight and attributed this milestone achievement to collective efforts, describing it as historic.
He stated that the proclamation from the Federal Government fulfills a long-term vision held by Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida and numerous other leaders from the state.
He also assured that the partnership between the Niger State government and the commercial flight operator, Overland, will be maintained, especially as the airport now serves as an alternative to the Abuja International Airport.
