Urgent Appeal for Water Supply Restoration in Limawa A.ward.

The Niger State Government has been urged to take immediate action regarding the repair of a damaged water supply pipe serving the Limawa A.ward community.
This call comes from a coalition of youths and elders within the area, who expressed their concerns to our staff reporter earlier today.
Residents have been grappling with a severe water shortage for nearly a year, primarily due to damage inflicted on the supply pipe by contractors conducting road and flyover construction in the state capital.
Despite numerous visits—over three—by community elders to both the Ministry of Works and the State Water and Sewage Corporation seeking assistance with the repairs, there has been no progress.
The community appeals to Governor Farmer Mohamed Umaru Bago, whom they describe as attentive and responsive to constituents’ needs, to intervene and facilitate the restoration of water supply, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.
As a result of the ongoing crisis, residents have been forced to purchase water from vendors, incurring costs of 1,800 Naira per truckload, a situation they deem distressing.
Furthermore, they have called upon their representatives in the National and State Assemblies, Mallam Abdul Buba and Alhaji Kabir Ustaz Takuti, to lend their support in addressing this urgent issue, as the community continues to face acute water shortages that impact their daily lives during this sacred period.
