Ramadan Message from NLC Chairman Idrees: A Call for Unity and Leadership Prayer.

Comrade Amb Idrees Abdulkareem Lafene, the esteemed Wakilin Kwadagon Kasar Nupe, Chairman of the Niger State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), and President of the Niger State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), extends warmest greetings to all Muslim faithful as they observe the Ramadan fast for the year 1446/2025.
In his message, Comrade Amb Idrees Abdulkareem Lafene emphasizes the importance of this sacred month as an opportunity for the Muslim Ummah to pray for divine guidance and intervention in addressing the pressing issues of insecurity and economic challenges currently facing the nation.
He calls for a greater understanding and collaboration between labor and government, which he believes will ultimately benefit a broad spectrum of stakeholders and their collective membership.
As the Wakilin Kwadago Nupe, he urges all individuals to seek divine blessings for both the NLC and Trade Union Congress (TUC) families, highlighting the need for solidarity during this period. “As we embark on this blessed month of fasting, may Allah bestow upon us the goodness of Ramadan,” he expressed.
Additionally, Comrade Idrees congratulated Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago, for being awarded The Sun Newspaper’s Governor of the Year in Agriculture.
This accolade recognizes the governor’s unwavering commitment to revitalizing agriculture as a crucial driver of economic growth and food security. The award was presented at a ceremony held at Eko Hotel in Lagos.
On behalf of all formal and informal workers, veterans, and the leadership of associated bodies, he celebrates the governor’s achievement and expresses pride in the strides being made in the agricultural sector under his administration.
