Tragic Fuel Tanker Explosion Claims Lives, Including Pregnant Woman and Children

A devastating fuel tanker explosion in Niger State, near Abuja, has left many feared dead and numerous individuals injured. The incident occurred on Saturday morning at Dikko Junction along Minna Road.
Emergency responders, including firefighters, are currently working to extinguish the blaze. Reports indicate that the victims were attempting to siphon fuel from the overturned tanker into jerrycans and containers when the explosion transpired.
Witnesses have relayed that some individuals had brought their generators to assist with the fuel transfer. One eyewitness recounted, “I saw the bodies of the victims, but I cannot confirm the exact number of fatalities. Among those who lost their lives were a pregnant woman and several children.”
Authorities are continuing to assess the situation as rescue efforts proceed.
