NUJ Niger Council Mourns the Passing of Newspaper Vendor Mallam Bayero, Remembered as a True Gentleman

The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Niger State Council, Comrade Abu Nmodu, has expressed condolences to the family of the esteemed newspaper distributor, Malam Abdullahi Bayero, who passed away in the early hours of Tuesday, December 31, 2025.
In his condolence message, Comrade Abu Nmodu described the late Malam Abdullahi Bayero as a true gentleman, a devout Muslim, and a friend of the NUJ who diligently carried out his duties for many years.
The statement, signed by the State Secretary of NUJ, Comrade Usman Chiji, highlighted how the deceased made his living through newspaper distribution. He will be greatly missed for his passion for his profession and his respectful interactions with customers and journalists alike.
The statement also noted that the history of journalism in Niger State would be incomplete without the mention of Malam Abdullahi Bayero, who had been in the newspaper distribution business since the inception of the profession in the state.
Comrade Usman Chiji emphasized that Malam Abdullahi Bayero was an integral part of the NUJ, as newspaper distribution serves as a vital avenue for information dissemination.
He prayed to Allah to forgive the deceased his sins, grant him Aljanatu Firdausi, and provide strength to his family and the members of the newspaper distributors’ association as they mourn this significant loss.
