Niger State House of Assembly Reaffirms Commitment to Partner with Stakeholders on At-Risk Children Programme

The Niger State House of Assembly has reaffirmed its commitment to partner with stakeholders, particularly the Niger State At-Risk Children Programme (ARC-P).
This announcement was made by the Clerk of the House, Mall. Farouq Umar Isah, during an advocacy visit from officials of the ARC-P at his office in the Assembly Complex, Minna.
The Clerk of the House expressed appreciation for the Team Lead and members of the At-Risk Children Programme, commending their plans and initiatives. He emphasized that this commendable programme will provide immense benefits to the people of Niger State.
The Clerk assured the ARC-P officials of the Assembly’s legislative partnership and support to help them achieve their goals, which align with the vision of Governor Hon. Mohammed Umar Bago’s New Niger Agenda, focusing on health, education, and agriculture.
In her remarks, the State Team Leader and Coordinator of the ARC-P, Aisha Umar Tafida, thanked the Clerk for the warm reception and congratulated him on his appointment, wishing him success in his new role.
She informed the Clerk that the purpose of their visit was to advocate for support and to update the Assembly about the activities of the ARC-P.
Tafida further explained that the programme aims to integrate at-risk children and young adults by creating opportunities for skills and employment, helping to reduce their vulnerabilities and enabling them to compete with their more advantaged peers globally.
Hajiya Aisha Umar Tafida highlighted the seven pillars of the At-Risk Children Programme, which include:
1. Basic Literacy and Numeracy (Education)
2. Health and Nutrition
3. Agriculture and Climate Change
4. Entrepreneurial and Financial Literacy
5. Digital Skills and Creativity
6. Sports and Life Skills
7. Incentivization/Intervention
