Niger state Civil Servants are advised to refrain from circulating official documents on social media.

The Niger State government has advised civil servants to refrain from circulating official documents on social media. This reminder was issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Niger State Ministry of Finance, Ibrahim D. Abubakar, during a meeting with staff of the Ministry yesterday.

Ibrahim D. Abubakar expressed his disappointment over the frequent leaks of important documents to the public, a situation he described as rampant among civil servants.

He urged the Ministry staff to adhere to the core principles of civil service and emphasized the importance of punctuality in the workplace. While acknowledging the current challenges, he encouraged everyone to be regular in their attendance.

Additionally, he expressed his concern over the business activities taking place around the Ministry’s premises, labeling them as unethical, and urged those involved to cease such activities immediately.

Looking ahead, Ibrahim D. Abubakar announced that staff training would be conducted in batches in the first quarter of next year.

The training aims to equip staff with new techniques for optimal performance. He also promised to continue providing retirement training for retiring staff to help them adjust to life after retirement.

The Director of Final Accounts at the Ministry, Abubakar Isah, praised the Permanent Secretary for his efforts since taking office and urged the continuation of the office furnishing initiative that had already begun.

Kudu Yanda, the Director of Stores in the Ministry, addressed issues of insubordination, warning that it could lead to setbacks for the Ministry if not addressed.

In her remarks on behalf of the staff, Miss Martha Kaura, the Acting Director of Administration, described the Permanent Secretary as a team leader.

She thanked him for the informative session, noting that the discussions served as a wake-up call for staff to strive for success.
