NCRI Badeggi to support Gov Bago’s mandate on Agriculture-Dr Ishaq.

The National cereal research institute Badeggi, Niger state is to partner the Niger state government to ensure the success on his mandate of new Niger agenda on sustainable food production.
The NCRI Executive Director Badeggi,Dr,Ishaq Ahmed Ndagi stated this on Thursday while speaking at the world food day ceremony held at Justice Legbo Kutigi international confrence center in Minna.
He said the initiative by Farmer governor Umar Bago is a landmark achievement to prioritize Agriculture which must be supported by the institute as the custodian of production of various varieties of seeds.
“We will live no stone unturned to ensure the mandate of Farmer Governor achieve the desired objectives on the Agricultural program in line with the New Niger agenda on sustainable food production.”

According to the Executive Director major success in rice production is the seed,the reason the institute was created to produce varieties of good seeds to suit every part of soil, adding that “when you have good seeds of rice there will be better results in production.”
Ndagi disclosed that apart from various seedlings of rice that abounds at the institute,it also have the capacity of sugarcane production to boost the Governor’s initiative of sugarcane production in the state.
” The institute have make a giant stride in sugar cane production as part of it’s mandate,and will make sure the governor’s initiative on sugarcane production is successful,as the institute have the capacity to produce sugar cane of over 100 hectres within six months”.Ishaq re-enphasised.
