DG Pension Board applauds Gov. Umaru Bago for keeping promise to the plight of retirees.
Niger state pension board has commenced payment of gratuities to one hundred and fourty three batch five (5) beneficiaries of state retirees.
The Director General of the Pension board, Mallam Nasiru Saidu Namaska while performing the symbolic presentation of cheques to the beneficiaries, appreciated the Farmer Governor, Mohammed umaru Bago for making funds available for the payment of gratuities to the retirees.
“I want to use this medium to sincerely thank his Excellency, governor of Niger state and his Deputy for their able leadership and keeping to their promise to retirees in the state”.
He explained,”pension board is not going to pay anybody whose file is not seen,file is what we are going to provide as an evidence that we have paid retiree, your file is where your payment voucher, photocopy of your documents are, so we must see those things before payment “.i urge you retirees to always exercise patience.
” We also have to confirm through your file weather you have gratuity to collect and the amount you have as gratuity and to know whether you have received 30% or you have received 70% or we have given you gratuity ” he added.
Nasiru also disclosed that the board have completed compilation of lists of batch six(6) and seven(7) of the state retirees and will soon commence payments.
He commended retirees for coming out in their numbers during the verification exercise conducted by the pension board,he mentioned that the exercise will help the state government to identify where there is leakages and creat surplus which the state government can use to implement Consequancial salary adjustments for the retirees in the state.
He further stated that in January 2025 the board will commence “AM ALIVE” verification exercise for Pensioners in the state through Banks, according to him, “AM ALIVE” is porter were pensioners can be verified weather they still exist or dead instead of gathering at the pension board for verification.
