Brighter community Minna,brings Succour to the less – privileged amongst them.
Over fifty three (53) person have benefited from Ramadan food and sallah clothes initiatives of Brighter Community, Tunga minna to reduce hardship during Ramadan and Sallah
The Coordinator of the Brighter community Association,Engr Umar Haliru in a Press release disclosed that the move is aimed at reducing hardship among Moslim ummahs in the community during Ramadan.
Engr Umar Haliru stated that the decision of coming up with the programme was informed during a meeting where it was agreed that well to do people in the community should contribute to assist the less- privileged persons during the holy month of Ramadan and Sallah.
He said in the statement that about seven hundred thousand naira was Volumteraly contributed for the purpose and used judiciously.
Engr Umar Haliru mentioned that only Muslim faithful were carried along in the distribution of the item to cushions hardship during Ramadan and Sallah.
According to him not only Muslim individuals and organizations that contribute to the drive, but some Christian brothers in the Community also donated to make the drive a success.
Engr Umar disclosed that so far they have also distributed 10 kg bags of rice, 2.5 kg of millet, one set of clothes, and N5,000 cash gift to 40 beneficiaries.
A community leader who witnessed the distribution exercises of the items, Dr Abubakar Kawu Hassan commended the efforts of the organizers and community members for embarking on such initiative, adding that it will go a long way in reducing the hardship been experienced in the recent time.
Dr Abubakar kawu Hassan then urges them not to relent as government alone can not tackle the food crises in the state, hence non governmental organization and well to do individuals in the society to assist in this direction, he added.
