Civil servants in Niger state have been charged to intensify prayers for the quick payment of the remaining demands from the state government, especially at this period of Ramadan.
The State Chairman Nigeria Labour congress and the president Nigeria union of local government employees NULGE,Niger state Chapter, Comrade Idrees Abdulkareem Lafene,gave the charge while felicitating with the Muslim and christians faithful as they embark on the Ramadan fast and forty day christian Lent period.
Comrade Lafene, assured workers in the state of the commitment of the leadership of the state NLC to continue to lead the struggle for the rights and improved welfare of workers in the state.
The state labour leader, also used the forum to appreciates the farmer governor for the payments of 20,000.00 salary wage bonus as recommend by the President Tinubu during his visit to Niger state to cushion the current economic hardships.
He stressed the state labour union’s resolve to partner with government,as a critical stakeholder, for the overall development of the state and her people.
The Comrade Ideess Hasken Wushishi,and state labour leader, then prayed God to accept the acts of worship by the two faiths, during these Significant Holy months.
It could be recalled that the increament of salary to workers at both state and local government areas was one of the agreements between the organised labour and the Federal Government as one of the ways to Cushioned the effect of the removal of subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit,(petrol).
