Niger Govt. to Kick Starts Construction of 5 kilometer roads in 25 LGAs next Month – SSG.

The Niger state government has concluded arrangement to kick start the construction of five kilometer roads in the twenty five local government area of the state next month.
The Secretary to the Niger State Government SSG, Alhaji Abubakar Usman disclosed this while delivering speech at a reception organised by the All Progressive Congress Gurara local government area to honour political appointees and to appreciate the Farmer Governor for recognizing their Son’s and daughters worthy for appointments.
Alhaji Usman stated that the ground breaking which is scheduled to take place at Gurara local government area is part of the promises made by the Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago to the good people of the State during his campaign tour.
He disclosed that the five kilometers roads across the twenty local government area is aimed at boasting agricultural development in the rural areas.
He further informed of the decision of farmer Governor to lay more emphasis on agriculture and urges them to key in,while appealing to community leaders in the area to accord the programme top priority.
Alhaji Usman called on Community Leaders to collaborate with the officials of the Ministry of Agriculture and that of the Land who will be coming to the area to look for 10,000 hectars of land that each local government area is expected to provide for agricultural purpose and development.
Usman pointed out that Government is not taking the land from them, rather the government want to cultivate the land and add value to it adding that at the end the owners of the land shall benefit from it.
He further mentioned that the land if cultivated would boost revenue generation of the local government council and creat job for the teeming youths in the area and state in general.
He also implored them to remain peace abiding citizes and always support government programme adding that New Niger Agenda of Fermer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago is aimed at repositioning the state, hence the need for each local government area to key in.
At the occasion there was a public lecture on need for peaceful coexistence in the area and the state, and also a cultural display.
Those honored at the occasion includes the SSG Alhaji Abubakar Usman,Hon Binta Mamman, Commissioner of Information, Deputy Speaker Afiniki, Hon Abubakar Magaji Arafat ,SUBEB and the State Secretary of APC, Alhaji Adamu Gani among others.
