NSCDC NIGER COMMAND ARRESTS 4 SUSPECTS FOR ADULTERATION OF PETROLEUM PRODUCTS.

NSCDC NIGER COMMAND ARRESTS 4 SUSPECTS FOR ADULTERATION OF PETROLEUM PRODUCTS.

The Niger State Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps; Joachin Okafor has declared war against all acts of Vandalism of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure in the State.

Okafor upon assumption of duty as the 16th substantive Commandant affirmed that the command under his watch would work assiduously to effectively prosecute the mandate of the NSCDC without compromise.

According to the Command Public Relations Officer,SC Nasir D Abdullah in a Press statement made available to Nigeria Daily Post said base on the available Intelligence report,the Antivandal Squad swung into action and four Suspects operating an oil dump site were arrested.

The statement said with a renewed vigour the Antivandal squad have arrested four suspects at Sabon Wuse Local Government Area of Niger State for allegedly involvement in illegal dealings in petroleum products”.

He stated that four suspects who specialized in adulteration and rebranding of condemn oil for personal gains were arrested in the illegal production site with gadgets and materials used for mixing Low Pour Fuel Oil (LPFO).

The statement added that from the confessional statements voluntarily made by the suspects; confirmed that they operate an illegal oil dump site where LPFO popularly known as BLACK OIL are being adulterated by mixing condemn oil, crude oil and premium motor spirit to finally produce LPFO”.

Those arrested at the scene of the crime while committing the crime are as follows: Abdullahi Musa (M) 45 years who hails from Jigawa State, he is into sales of adulterated oil (black oil) to customers who buy and use without knowing the oil could damage their mercenaries, Hussein Sulaiman (M) 25 years from Nassarawa State, who work as apprentice under Abubakar Saidu (Owner of the dump site.

Others are Murtala Mohammed (M) 37 years who hails from Kano State and does business in Gas & Petrol; while the fourth suspect is Mohammed Sanusi (M) 35 years from Kano State and trades in Engine oil, Petrol and Gas.

The statement added that on the day of the arrest four (4) Suspects were caught pouring three (3) Drums of crude oil into a carved concrete reservoir in Kango Company in preparation for their criminal activities.

An apartment also used for Soap production was also identified with many drums and chemicals suspected to be used for production of fake soap without any license,hence they have been operating illegally making the public to buy adulterated and substandard petroleum products.

He said a thorough investigation would be carried out to ascertain the level of the involvement of the suspects after which they would be appropriately charged to Court.

Commandant Okafor however advised the general public to engage in meaningful businesses or risk being caught engaging in any act of economic sabotage adding that whoever is apprehended would be made to face the full wrath of the law.
