Communities in Shiroro and Munya local government areas of Niger state celebrate the elimination of notorious Bandits ring leaders, Yellow Jambros in an Airstrike along with others on Wednesday.
The Senator representing Niger East Senatorial District, Senator Mohammed Sani Musa has hailed the Military over the ongoing successful operations in parts of his constituency.
The Senator who was reacting to the killing of the most wanted leader of kidnap gang, Jambros whose activities along with others have made lives miserable for the people of his constituency in the last ten years, described the elimination of scores of the Bandits, including Jambros as a welcome development.

“We cried to the Nigerian Military and they have heeded and responded to the cries of my people. We commended them for the successes so far.
“I was reliably informed that the Minna – Sarkin pawa-Kaduna link road which was abandoned by commuters for over ten years as a result of Bandits activities in the area is now open and free for motorists. This is a great success and it is highly commendable.
It could be recalled that the Bandits ringleader and over 50 members of his gang met their waterloo on Wednesday morning when they were trying to escape the onslaught by the men of the joint security taskforce led by the military in Communities around Shiroro and Munya local government areas of the state.
It was gathered from a source close to these communities that the Bandits numbering well over 300 and fleeing from the Military operations in Kaduna and parts of Niger state were said to have hijacked a wooden boat and asked the driver to cross the river with them at gun point.
The air component of the Operation Whirl Punch was said to have sighted the Bandits while trying to cross the river Kusasu in Shiroro local government and bombed them, killing over 50, including Jambros while scores were injured.
According to our source, the driver of the boat and his boat assistant were however lucky as they escaped unhurt but it was learnt that remaining Bandits who were waiting for the boat driver to make a return journey to ferry them across the river however took to their hills after their comrades in crime were bombed.
Before he met his death on Wednesday, the kidnap ringleader, Yellow Jambros, was known for orchestrating multiple kidnappings and killings across the state, including Kaduna, Katsina, and Zamfara..
