School proprietor Advocates for Inclusion of Indigenous Languages in Nigerian Schools

The Proprietor of Saleem Academy a private primary and Secondary School in Lugbe Abuja Nigeria’s capital Chief Audu Ali Abraham ( JP), has called upon the Nigerian government to introduce the teaching of indigenous languages in basic to junior secondary schools.
Chief Abraham stated this during Saleem Academy’s Annual Cultural Day with the theme “Cultural Integration: A Tool for Unity in Diversity,”
Chief Abraham who highlighted the school’s commitment to fostering cultural appreciation among students.underscored the significance of cultural integration, stating that the school instituted a special day nine years ago to enable students to learn and embrace the diverse cultures of Nigeria.
Miss Abisemi Emmanuel, Chairperson of the Cultural Day, lauded the students’ performances, showcasing vibrant traditional attires representing all geopolitical zones of the country.
She expressed her belief that recognizing Nigeria’s diverse culture contributes to a sense of belonging and shared identity.
Alhaji Mustaoha Shettima Pindar, Chairman of The School Parents Teachers Association, expressed gratitude to parents for supporting their children in the cultural display.
