NIGER STATE GOVERNMENT RECEIVES SOFTWARE AND GIS EQUIPMENT.
Niger State Government has received licensed software and Geographic Information System (GIS) equipment for the establishment of the Niger State Geographic Information System (NIGIS) Laboratory.
The items were procured by Agro Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACRESAL) Niger State Office, as part of its objectives of tackling environmental challenges across the Nation.
Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Maurice Magaji who received the items on behalf of the State Government said the gesture will go a long way in the transformational drive of Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago especially as it concerns land matters.
The Commissioner also expressed optimism that the items are timely and important as Governor Bago is set to revamp the State Geographic Information System
Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, Muhammad Yakubu Muhammad Kolo said the State Government through his Ministry will work in collaboration with ACRESAL Niger State as the State continues to emphasize data generation, analysis and provision of processed and analysed information to achieve set targets.
Niger State Project Coordinator, ACRESAL, Usman Garba Ibeto in his charge revealed that the Agency will continue to work in partnership with other relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies by intervening in various aspects for the overall growth and development of the State.
Items presented to the State Government include Digital cameras, Radio GPS navigators, virtual reality compatible headsets, high visibility vests, advanced thermal imaging cameras, smart antenna workstation seats and cut-resistant gloves amongst others.
