A Ward Head and two others arrested in Paiko for theft and receiving of stolen motorcycles.
A ward Head of Sabon Danduru village in Paikoro local government area of Niger State,Hussaini Mohammed fourty five years (45yrs) and two others,Isah Umar and Hussaini Ibrahim of Bosso town have been arrested for theft and receiving of stolen motorcycle.
Police Public Relations Officer, Niger state Police Command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun while parading the suspects before Journalists in Minna,said Hussaini Ibrahim was arrested on 26/06/2023 at about 0130hrs for being suspected to have stolen two Jincheng motorcycles from Tudun-Fulani area of Minna on 12/06/2023, while he led the Police team to Isah Umar at Danduru village, Paiko for aiding in the theft of the motorcycles.
DSP Wasiu mentioned that during interrogation, the two suspects confessed to the crime and claimed that they stole about four motorcycles together with one Nafiu presently at large, and gave it to one Junaidu also at large who sold the stolen motorcycle to the Ward’s head; Hussaini Mohammed.
The suspects further confessed that they do sell stolen motorcycles at the rate of two hundred thousand naira and one hundred and fifty thousand naira to the Ward head.
The receiver Hussaini Mohammed (Ward head) was later arrested with recovery of twenty-six different motorcycle number plates and one fuel tank.
The ward head confessed that he do buys such motorcycles and he usually retrieves the number plates before re-selling.
DSP Wasiu then said the case is still under investigation at SCID Minna, and all suspects will be arraigned in court for prosecution as soon as the investigation is concluded.
