APC Stakeholder in Niger tasked Senators -Elect to support,Sen Sani Musa 313 Senate President Bid.
A chieftain of All Progressive congress (APC) in Niger State, Alhaji Mohammed Nma Kolo has stated that the ruling party should compensate the North Central by zoning the position of the Senate president to the region
Alhaji Nma Mohammed Kolo who is also the Special Adviser to the Governor of the state on Political matters mentioned that for the zone and Niger state in particular to have made massive sacrifices that saw the party cross critical turning points leading to the February presidential election,hence the need for the party to support zoning of the position of Senate President to the area as a compensation.
Hon Nma Kolo, in a statement issued onTuesday to Journalists in Minna also said that when the position is eventually zoned to the North Central, Senator Muhammad Sani Musa from Niger State would be among the competent persons to go for the position following his track of achievements recorded so far as Senator.
“It is only fair and decent that with the President from the South-West, Vice-President from the North East, the Senate President should come from the North Central for equity’ Kolo said.
The APC chieftain recalled the massive sacrifice made by Niger State and the Senator Sani Musa who was prominently aspiring for the National Chairman’s of the Party had withdrawn in the interest of the party.”It is important to state here that Senator Sani Musa from Niger State was a front runner for the APC presidential Aspirant but in the spirit of sportsmanship, withdrew his aspiration which made the party primary election smooth and paved way for a successful zoning of the presidential slot and subsequent the emergence of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu from the South-West” he added.
According to him, Senator Mohammed Sani Musa who is currently a serving Senator representing Niger East in the 9th National Assembly his competence for the position of Senate President is unquantifiable.
Kolo said Senator Musa, the Chairman Senate Services Committee from June 2019 to June 2023, has ample of experience, impeccable integrity and is generally trustworthy and reliable for position.
Hon Kolo expressed the hope that the APC would zone the Senate Presidency to the North Central geopolitical zone, saying that Senator Sani Musa who has been re- elected into the Senate may be the dark Horse to pick the position of Senate President.
“We hope and pray that the party would zone the office to the North Central because it has proven to be APC stronghold especially Niger State that gave the highest votes in the zone,” Kolo maintained.
