MINNA HIGH COURT 2 HAS STRICK OUT  SUIT CHALLENGING THE SELECTION OF EMIR OF KONTAGORA ALH MUHAMMADU BARAU MUAZU 11.

MINNA HIGH COURT 2 HAS STRICK OUT  SUIT CHALLENGING THE SELECTION OF EMIR OF KONTAGORA ALH MUHAMMADU BARAU MUAZU 11.

 

The Minna High court 2 has strike out the suit filed against the Emir of Kontagora, Alhaji Muhammadu Barau Mu’azu II.

Forty seven Princes of the Kontagora Emirate, has approached Minna High court 2 presided over by Justice Mika’il Abdullahi challenging the process   of the selection of the Emir of Kontagora, Alhaji Muhammadu Barau Mu’azu II.

Joined in the suit are the Emir of Kontagora, Alh. Muhammadu Barau Mu’azu 11, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, the Commissioner for local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affair’s and the Governor of Niger state as well as five others.

After reviewing the submissions of both counsels in the matter in three hours judgement, Justice Mika’il Abdullahi strike out the case on the ground that the petitioners failed in totality to convince the court and prove their case.

Speaking with Journalists immediately after the judgement, counsel to the Emir of Kontagora, Mohammed Kudu Ndayako SAN described the judgement as upright and a well researched judgement as delivered by the judge.

All we brought to the court were granted, the judgement has vindicated us. So the case has come to an end,” he said.

The defence counsel,Yusha’u Waziri Mamman SAN stated that they will appeal the matter,because we are not satisfied with the judgement so we are going to challenge the judgement in the court of appeal he mentioned.
