FOURTEEN SUSPECTED YOURTHS IN CONNECTION TO THE KILLING OF LAMBATA VILLAGE HEAD PARADED IN MINNA.
Yourths of Lambata numbering about fourteen who stormed the residence of the Village head of Lambata and killed him have been arrested by the Police in Gawu Babangida local government area of Niger state.
The irate youths Who attacked the village head, inflicted serious injuries on him and his younger brother, one Ibrahim Moh’d for inexplicable reasons,
According to the Police Public Relation officer DSP Wasiu Abiodun while parading the suspects said they where arrested in Lambata town.
Unfortunately, the village head was later confirmed dead in the hospital, as a result of the serious injuries he sustained during the attack.
According to him the Police operatives led by Area Commander Suleja, on the instruction of the Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command CP Ogundele J. Ayodeji, psc(+) swung into action, and conducted a house-to-house search of the area on 17/18 Jan, 2023 which led to their arrest.
He stressed that during the search with some pointers witnesses, fourteen suspects were arrested in connection with the crime, whio are;

-Yusuf Sarki 49yrs
-Atiku Moh’d 21yrs
-Adamu Yusuf 46yrs
-Bashir Moh’d 27yrs
The PPRO Said that during interrogation, the suspects confessed that there has been a lingering issue of chieftaincy tussle between the late Village Head and Umar Ilyasu Sarki, who claimed that the thirty-seven District heads (Mai-Anguwa) in the community are loyal to him; and that they did not recognize the late village Head as their leader.
Furthermore, the suspects mentioned other members who participated in the act as Hamza Umar Sarki, Dauda Umar Sarki, Abdulkarim Dantani, Zubairu Moh’d, Zayanu Ladan, Jibril Garba and who. are presently at large.
He said that efforts is ongoing to arrest the fleeing members of the group and Police is intensifying efforts to arrest them.and the suspects will be arraigned in court for diligent prosecution.
It will be recalled that on the 14/01/2023 at about 15:00 hrs some Yourths invade the House of the Village Head of Lambata and killed him .
According to the family source said that on the faithful day before the yourths stormed the village Head House and killed him, he had reported to the the Divisional Police Officer DPO Lambata and told him that some Yourths are threatening to kill him.
According to the source the DPO asked him to go back home that nothing will happen and that the following day he will invite the person’s concerned to the Lambata police station for questioning.
The source said that, it was immediately the village Head returned home, the Yourths stormed his house and killed him.
