Husband Flees After Allegedly Killing Wife Over Visiting Late Friend’s Husband in Delta
A disturbing incident has sparked outrage in Delta State following the death of a woman named Nora, allegedly caused by her husband’s violence after she visited her late friend’s husband.
Reports indicate that Nora told her husband, Emma, about her plan to visit Cyril, the widow of her late friend Jennifer, who died during childbirth.
Nora’s sister stated in an audio recording that, “My sister told her husband, ‘I want to see Cyril, who was our photographer at our wedding, as his wife died during the operation.’ He replied, ‘Okay.'”
She further explained that Nora went with another sister to visit Cyril and returned home in the evening. However, Emma reportedly became enraged, accusing Nora of infidelity despite her explanation.
“I told you I wanted to visit and greet my friend whose wife passed away. It was my sister and me who went,” Nora reportedly told him.
Witnesses claimed that Emma attacked Nora with an iron object, chased her outside their home, and continued the assault in front of their three children, aged 8, 5, and 1.
A relative stated, “He used an iron whip, and my sister fell into the swamp water. Her husband left her there like that.”
According to reports, Emma returned roughly two hours later, found Nora unresponsive, and raised the alarm. Nora was confirmed dead, and Emma has reportedly fled the scene and is currently on the run.
Officials have not yet issued an official statement regarding the case.
