PIDAN Central Zone Advocates for Unity, Improved Security During Visits to Pankshin and Bokkos

The leadership of the Plateau Initiative for Development and Advancement of the Natives (PIDAN) Central Zone, led by its Chairman, Mr. Alpha John Dakwak, has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting unity, peace, and improved security across Plateau State during advocacy visits to Pankshin and Bokkos Local Government Areas.

The delegation paid courtesy visits to His Royal Majesty, Nde Jika Golit, the Ngolong Ngas, the Paramount Ruler of the Ngas Nation, and the District Head of Bokkos, Saf Ron Monday Adanchin, as well as the respective local government councils.
Addressing the traditional rulers, Mr. Dakwak emphasized that unity among the indigenous people of Plateau State remains the foundation for lasting peace and sustainable development. He also commended the traditional institutions for their efforts in promoting peaceful coexistence and resolving communal issues through dialogue.
The PIDAN Chairman advocated for the immediate implementation of the Federal Government’s proposed 1,000 Forest Guards initiative and urged the speedy passage of the State Police Bill, noting that community-based security structures would significantly strengthen the protection of lives, farmlands, and communities.
In Bokkos, the delegation expressed heartfelt condolences over the recent attacks that claimed innocent lives and reaffirmed PIDAN’s solidarity with the affected communities. The organization also reiterated its commitment to consistently speak against violence and support initiatives aimed at restoring lasting peace across Plateau State.
Responding, the traditional rulers commended PIDAN for its proactive engagement and described the organization as a credible platform for protecting the collective interests of Plateau’s indigenous communities. They pledged continued collaboration with PIDAN in advancing unity, strengthening security, and promoting peaceful coexistence.
The advocacy visits form part of PIDAN Central Zone’s ongoing efforts to deepen engagement with traditional institutions, government authorities, and communities in pursuit of a united, peaceful, and prosperous Plateau State.
