Third Batch of Niger State Pilgrims Departs Jeddah for Minna
The third batch of 428 Niger State pilgrims has left King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on their way to Minna as part of the ongoing airlift of pilgrims returning home after completing the 2026 Hajj exercise.
In a press statement, Jibrin Kodo, Public Relations Officer of the Pilgrims Welfare Board, said the pilgrims, from Kontagora, Mashegu, Shiroro, Mariga, Chanchaga, Borgu, and Lapai Local Government Areas, departed Jeddah around 10:21 a.m. Saudi Arabian time (8:21 a.m. Nigerian time).
They are expected to arrive at Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport in Minna at about 4:05 p.m. Saudi Arabian time (2:05 p.m. Nigerian time).
The Board’s Executive Secretary, Sheik Muhammad Awwal Aliyu, who oversaw the departure process at Jeddah Airport, expressed satisfaction with the pilgrims’ organized conduct and the smooth coordination of the return process.
He noted that the operation has continued to be highly successful, with pilgrims following the established guidelines and schedules.
Sheik Muhammad Awwal Aliyu also assured that sufficient measures are in place to ensure the timely return of the remaining batches of pilgrims and to prioritize their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the journey.
He reaffirmed the Board’s dedication to ensuring all Niger State pilgrims are returned safely and efficiently to their destinations.
