Democracy Day: Lameen Aliyu Praises Tinubu, Urges Nigerians to Maintain Faith in Democratic Values
The Deputy Director General of the APC Support Groups Council – North Central, Alhaji Lameen Aliyu, congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and Nigerians on the occasion of the 2026 Democracy Day celebration. He described June 12 as a pivotal moment in Nigeria’s democratic development and a testament to the power of the people’s will.
In a statement marking the national event, Alhaji Lameen Aliyu said Democracy Day gives Nigerians the chance to reflect on the sacrifices made by the heroes and heroines of the nation who tirelessly fought for democratic governance, national unity, and peaceful coexistence.
He praised President Tinubu for his firm dedication to implementing the Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing that the administration’s reforms aim to reposition the country for sustainable growth and shared prosperity.
According to the APC leader, despite ongoing economic and social difficulties, the Federal Government continues to pursue policies and initiatives focused on economic revival, infrastructure development, agricultural transformation, youth empowerment, and social welfare improvements.
Alhaji Lameen Aliyu called on Nigerians to stay united and keep supporting the government’s efforts, highlighting that patience, collective sacrifice, and national unity are key to building a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria.
He also urged political leaders, stakeholders, and citizens to uphold the principles of democracy, justice, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence, stressing that real development can only happen in an environment of peace, inclusivity, and mutual understanding.
The Deputy Director General reaffirmed the commitment of the APC Support Groups Council – North Central to strengthening grassroots mobilization in support of President Tinubu’s policies and programs, as well as enhancing unity and electoral success for the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He further prayed for lasting peace, stability, and progress in Nigeria, wishing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all Nigerians a memorable and meaningful Democracy Day celebration.
He noted that June 12 remains a strong reminder of the resilience of the Nigerian people and the enduring values of democracy, freedom, and national unity.
“As we celebrate another Democracy Day, let us renew our commitment to building a peaceful, prosperous, and united Nigeria for current and future generations,” he stated.
