State Congress : NNPP to elect Plateau State leaders by consensus

The New Nigerian People Party ,NNPP, has conducted and adopted a consensus approach for selecting its State leadership during the party’s in Plateau state congress on the 28, 2026, held at Dimples Hotel .
The NWC of the NNPP Chairman of the committee ,Amb Muhammad Auwal Musa on the 28 , March 2026, , disclosed that the party adopted consensus method of electing it’s exco .
On the issue of consensus positions during state congress, Musa said the party had unanimously decided those that would handled the affairs of the party, noting that decisions was locally accepted political dynamics.
He explained, “NNPP , for this State Congress, I am aware and can say that the party is adopting consensus for this forthcoming Plateau State Chapter . As to whether they are adopting consensus for elective positions, he answered that the delegates acçepted it for the unity of the party.
The Committee Chairman warmly welcomed all the delegates towards the uplifting of the party progress in the state especially in the critical period of strengthening the party structure .
According to him, the exercise was hitch free as the exercise was conducted in a manner that is so credible and strick best on the NNPP constitution .
He charged all aspirants vying for the seat of state leadership to adhere to the party guidelines and disregard those that are not progressive in nature .
Musa challenged the Plateau State Chapter of the NNPP executive officers to respect the party and used their position in promoting the party to clinch the 2027 general election
He tasked the all stakeholders on unwavering commitment to the unity and oneness amongst the party faithful as he declared the occasion opened in welcoming the newly elected officials .
“So, I believe that, at the end of the day, Our election would come those emerging through consensus space are to unite the party and welcome new members into the fault .”
Musa also addressed the Electoral Act’s provisions, which require political parties to register members online within a specified timeframe and outline acceptable methods for candidate selection.
He said these requirements not posed challenges so we hereby confirm you today as the state executives .
Other NWC member retain posts of all the state officials and urged to continued to work hard for the progress of the party in Plateau State ahead of the general election.
