Niger State Governor Umaru Bago Participates in Progressive Governors Forum Meeting in Lagos.
Niger State governor Mohammed Umaru Bago attended the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) meeting held in Lagos, joining his colleagues in a closed session to discuss critical national issues affecting governance and development.
The forum focused on aligning state-level governance priorities with federal policies and on improving coordination among APC-led states.
During the event, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, who also serves as PGF Chairman, read and signed the communique before briefing reporters.
He announced the forum’s decision to maintain the current party leadership and avoid reallocating key positions.
The PGF reaffirmed its commitment to democratic stability, principled governance, and the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
It acknowledged President Tinubu’s recent UK visit as part of broader diplomatic initiatives aimed at security and development, welcoming his dedication to ongoing international efforts to address security challenges and promote growth.
The governors praised the President’s transparency, clear objectives, and dedication to strengthening the federation.
Emphasizing the importance of teamwork, the forum called for increased cooperation between federal and state governments, particularly in agriculture, energy, transportation, healthcare, and education, while respecting state autonomy.
On economic reforms, the forum recognized existing challenges but highlighted that success should lead to better living conditions for all Nigerians.
Party loyalty remains crucial; the forum commended the peaceful conduct of recent APC congresses nationwide, viewing these as signs of internal democracy and institutional maturity.
It urged Nigerians to stay committed to democratic processes and support efforts to build a more secure, inclusive, and prosperous Nigeria.
