NAHCON Commends Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board’s Preparation for 2026 Hajj

Officials from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) have recently expressed their satisfaction with the facilities and levels of preparedness demonstrated by the Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board in anticipation of the 2026 Hajj operations.
During their visit to Niger State, NAHCON officials conducted a thorough verification and assessment of the state’s readiness for the upcoming pilgrimage. Hajiya Zainab Jummai Mohammed, the Zonal Coordinator of NAHCON’s Abuja outreach, led the team.
She highlighted the significance of these visits as part of NAHCON’s ongoing efforts to evaluate the infrastructural conditions and operational readiness of various State Pilgrims Welfare Boards ahead of each annual Hajj.
As the visit progressed, the officials toured the Board’s facilities, with insights provided by the Executive Secretary of the Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Sheikh Muhammad Awwal Aliyu, who was represented by Babani Aliyu Yahaya, the Director of Administration.
He confirmed that all offices are undergoing comprehensive renovations aimed at ensuring both staff and pilgrims have access to conducive and efficient facilities for Hajj operations.
This renovation project, executed under the leadership of Niger State Governor Farmer Mohammad Umaru Bago, underscores the state government’s commitment to facilitating a smooth and organized Hajj experience.
The NAHCON team also visited the State Hajj camp, inspecting various facilities, including the clinic, kitchen, and holding areas.
The Executive Secretary expressed gratitude for the officials’ timely visit, acknowledging their role in guiding states towards early and effective preparations for the 2026 Hajj.
In conclusion, the Executive Secretary reiterated the Board’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of pilgrims and emphasized the importance of fostering a collaborative relationship with NAHCON.
