Niger State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria Extend Assistance to Flood Victims.

In a show of solidarity and compassion, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Niger State has reached out to Governor Umaru Bago and the residents of Mokwa local government area following the recent catastrophic flooding that affected numerous communities and resulted in significant loss of life.

Most Rev. Dr. Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, Chairman of CAN in Niger State, conveyed the organization’s condolences by presenting a donation that included 10 bags of maize, 5 bags of guinea corn, and 12 bags of assorted clothing, bags, and shoes.

“We, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Niger State, extend our heartfelt condolences and sympathy to you and our fellow citizens who have faced this devastating flood disaster in Mokwa,” said Yohanna, who also serves as the Catholic Bishop of Kontagora Diocese. He emphasized that the association has mobilized members from all 25 local government areas to provide support during this challenging time.

Bishop Yohanna offered prayers for the state and expressed his grief for those who have lost loved ones, urging the community to maintain hope and resilience in the face of adversity.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the state government, Barrister Mairo Mann, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, commended CAN’s initiative and assured that the government would ensure that the assistance reaches the rightful victims.
