Benue State Governor’s Aide Arrested for Alleged Sex Extortion and Cyber Bullying

Makurdi, Benue State – In a significant development, Dr. Mkor Aondona, the Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Benue State on Documentation, Research, and Planning, has been arrested by the Makurdi Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on charges of alleged sex extortion and cyber bullying.
The arrest, which took place on Friday, June 20, 2025, followed serious allegations brought forth by several female students who accused Aondona of leveraging his position for unethical and criminal purposes, including sexual exploitation and blackmail.
According to the petitioners, Aondona allegedly recruited slim and attractive young women for ushering jobs while demanding sexual favors as a prerequisite for selection.
Unbeknownst to the victims, the aide is accused of recording intimate encounters without their consent and threatening to publicly share these videos if they refused to comply with his demands.
Reports suggest that explicit footage of the women, captured without their knowledge, is already circulating on various messaging platforms, further amplifying the distress caused by his actions.
The EFCC has stated that Aondona will face formal charges in court as the investigation continues. This case highlights pressing concerns regarding the exploitation of power and trust within professional environments, prompting a call for heightened vigilance and protective measures for vulnerable individuals.
