OAGF Confirms Integration of Remitta into New Treasury Management System

The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) has issued a press release clarifying that the Federal Government will not be discontinuing the use of Remitta, the approved payment gateway from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Instead, the OAGF announced that Remitta will be integrated into the newly established Treasury Management and Revenue Assurance System (TMRAS) alongside other eligible Payment Solution Service Providers (PSSPs) aimed at enhancing the liberalisation of government revenue collection and remittances.

In a statement delivered in Abuja, the OAGF confirmed that the TMRAS would officially launch on March 4, 2025.

This initiative aligns with the directives set forth by the President and the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, to improve treasury revenue assurance and the budget performance of all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) and Federal Government-Owned Enterprises (FGOEs).

The TMRAS is designed to streamline and manage Federal Government revenue collections and payments from all MDAs, ensuring a more efficient and timely analysis of all transaction-related information.

The OAGF noted, “While Remitta is a secure channel for revenue payments, TMRAS will enable the integration of various other secure payment platforms, allowing licensed PSSPs by the CBN to operate.”

To reassure revenue payers and the public, the OAGF emphasized that “Remitta remains the only approved payment gateway for Federal Government payments and revenue collection for a minimum of two months.”

The government is actively working to manage the front-end payment infrastructure and expand the collection system to incorporate additional CBN-licensed PSSPs.

The OAGF encourages all revenue payers and the general public to continue utilizing Remitta and to visit www.fgntreasury.gov.ng for all payments related to the Federal Government.
